Remove EXIF
Photos often carry hidden details: where they were taken, which phone took them, and when. See what is inside and choose what to remove. Nothing is uploaded.
Turn this off if you want every tag gone. Some photos taken in portrait mode may then appear sideways.
- How it works: after you add a photo, every kind of hidden data found in it is listed with a tick box. Everything is ticked, meaning it will be removed. Untick what you want to keep.
- Untouched: the picture itself. Pixels are not re-compressed, so quality stays identical. Colour profiles are kept. Maker notes and embedded thumbnails are always removed.
About EXIF data and photo privacy
Photos from phones and cameras often carry hidden metadata called EXIF. It can include the exact GPS location where the photo was taken, the device model, the date and time, and the software used. If you share the original file, others can read it.
This tool lists what each photo contains and lets you pick what to remove. The picture itself is not re-compressed, so quality does not change. A small rotation flag can be kept so portrait photos are not shown sideways.
Many social networks remove metadata when you upload, but not all of them, and not when you send a file directly. Removing it yourself is the safe option.
Your photos are processed in your browser and are never uploaded.
